One thing I enjoy about being a mentor is having the opportunity to grow other educators in particular areas that I work closely with while at the same time growing myself with skills needed for other leadership and guidance opportunities.

I truly appreciate having a mentor of my own through TxCEE to help me grow my skills in coaching. It has been so impactful for me to have someone to bounce ideas off of and to make sure I am on the right track so that I can ensure my teachers are successful.

To me, mentoring means that you are guiding a novice teacher towards a common goal. When I mentor and coach a teacher, we have some valuable conversations. Two of my mentees have never taught before. When we have our Fireside Chats to set goals, we make sure to align that teacher’s goal with the campus goals…
