The training was full of ideas for all elementary grades, which is helpful, especially as I try to remediate where my students are lacking foundational skills completely. What I struggle to understand is whether it is worth it to implement new methods in the classroom at this point in the instructional year. However, I know that the last 6-8 weeks of the year do leave plenty of room in curriculum to strengthen foundational skills.
This session was an overview of many tips and tricks for teaching math basic facts and mental math. This was a virtual workshop that allowed me to collaborate with other educators across the United States.
