Director of Research and Evaluation
Angela Richards serves as Director of Research, Evaluation, and Data on federal grants at TxCEE. She directs research and evaluation and coordinates with external research partners and districts on research and evaluation activities and data management, analysis, and reporting.
She has served as an applied researcher and senior evaluator for public education initiatives from PreK through adult professional learning in order to address social challenges and improve students’ academic mindsets, well-being, STEM learning, and ultimately, achievement. She advocates for equitable learning via student interventions, social and emotional learning, and educator professional learning and innovation. Before joining TxCEE, Angela owned her own research and evaluation consulting business, developing and executing educational research and evaluation projects, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis. She has served as the lead evaluator in K-16 curriculum and instruction initiatives with a focus on 21st century mindsets, self-regulated learning strategies, and applications to teaching, learning, diversity and equity, and mental well-being. She has also taught undergraduate (including preservice teachers) and graduate students in human learning, motivation, and emotion courses at UT – Austin. Angela received her Ph.D. and MA in Educational Psychology from University of Texas at Austin with a focus on the learning sciences, quantitative methods, and program evaluation.
